ANNOUNCES A PUBLIC CALL FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

FOR PARTICIPATION IN CROSS-BORDER CAMP FOR YOUNG LEADERS

WITHIN THE PROJECT "YOUTH RIDERS"

Cross-border camp for young leaders from the Serbian-Bulgarian border region will be held in Serbia, in the village of Kamenica, near Nis, from August 31 to September 4, 2017. The goal of the camp is to network the youth sector in the Serbian-Bulgarian border region by building an informal network of young people and organizations working for youth. The camp lasts 5 days and consists of two parts:

1) Training part, which consists of two parallel three-day trainings. The theme of the first training is "Strategic Planning" and the second training is about "Advocacy and Public Relations". When completing the application form, it is necessary to opt for one of two offered trainings.

2) Working part, in the form of a youth meeting, i.e. "Youth Summit" will be organized in the last two days of the camp, on the basis of previously collected information from the research and realized activities, strategic planning of the youth network and recommendations for youth policies given to the local authorities of the two sides, with the press conference as the final activity.

The costs, which include transport, board, and logging of the participants and training material are borne by the organizers. Simultaneous translation from Bulgarian into Serbian and vice versa is provided for the whole duration of the camp. The official programme of the camp will be delivered to the participants upon the selection of the candidates.

Conditions and process of application:

  • The invitation is open to all young people aged 16 to 29 from the territory of 7 border administrative districts from Serbia (Bor, Zaječar, Nišava, Pirot, Jablanica, Pčinja and Toplica);
  • Interested applicants should complete the application form (attached to this invitation) and clearly indicate one of the two training sessions they wish to attend;
  • Candidates under the age of 18 are obliged to provide written consent of the parent/guardian for participation in these activities (attached to this invitation);
  • The completed application form should be sent to e-mail: otvoreniklubnis@gmail.com no later than August 18, 2017. Organizers reserve the right to request additional information from candidates, if necessary;
  • Incomplete application forms, as well as applications received after the specified deadline will not be taken into consideration.

Results:

The number of places on the camp is limited to a total of 40 participants, 20 for the participants from Serbia, and 20 for those from Bulgaria. After the application deadline, candidates will be selected and individual interviews will be conducted, if necessary. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the organizer, by August 25, 2017 at the latest.

Additional information:

Priority may be given to active young people with previosu experience in youth and/or volunteer initiatives and candidates who have excellent communication skills, which can be confirmed by appropriate recommendations from organizations or educational institutions.

About the project "Youth Riders":

Public call is announced within the project "Youth Riders" implemented by the Association for Development of Children and Youth - Open Club from Nis in partnership with Free Youth Center from Vidin, Bulgaria, as a leading partner and the Association for Local Development Kamenica, Serbia, and is co-funded by the EU through the Interreg-IPA CBC Bulgaria-Serbia Programme. The overall objective of the project is through capacity building and cooperation in youth work and youth policy to contribute to integration and socio-economical development in Bulgaria-Serbia border region.
