01.10.2021 The Free Youth Centre has issued a Volunteer Handbook for young people interested in volunteering in emergencies. The handbook is a product of the cross-border project "Moving Borders for Emergency Volunteering", implemented with partner from Serbia under INTERREG-IPA Programme. The main goal of the project was to increase the motivation for volunteering in emergency situations, developing youth volunteering.
September 14, 2018. In Vidin was celebrated the professional day of the Fire Safety and Protection of the Population Directorate with the participation of the employees of the Directorate, the volunteers from the voluntary unit of Vidin Municipality and the Youth Emergency Team at the Bulgarian Red Cross - Vidin. Demonstrations to the citizens of Vidin - fire in the building of the municipality, evacuation and rescue of citizens.
December 14-15, 2017 In Craiova, Romania took place the closing event under the project "Community Opposition of Disastrous Events - CODE" - the conclusion forum. It collected 40 participants from volunteer units for disaster protection, local authorities and experts from Bulgaria and Romania. The aim of the forum was to report the results, to evaluate and provide sustainability of the collaboration.
September 28 - 29, 2017. At the polygon at the qualification centre of the Regional Fire Protection and Civil Protection Directorate - Montana, a joint practical exercise was conducted for volunteers on rescue in case of disasters and accidents. The sexersise was attended by 30 volunteers from Bulgaria and Romania who, in interaction with professionals, trained actions in case of earthquak, flood and catastrophe.
May 20, 2017. Free Youth Centre successfully completed a series of 18 two-day training seminars for members of voluntary units for disaster protection and municipal officials from Vidin and Montana districts, conducted by the organization to improve emergency preparedness.
October 14-15, 2016. In Belogradchik, Bulgaria took place the second meeting of experts from Bulgaria and Romania under the project "Community Opposition of Disastrous Events" (CODE). The purpose of the meeting was the approval of the methodological set made for the provision of training courses and the practical exercises.
July, 7-8 2016 In Dubova, Romania held the First CODE meeting of experts in disaster protection from Bulgaria and Romania. The forum is a activity under "Community Opposition of Disastrous Events" project and aimed to presenting the results of a Comparative research and drafting Terms of Reference for the methodology of project's training and practical exercises.
April, 2016.The first project activity - "Project Promotion", officially started in Bulgarian border region. To the end of May a PR expert will vist at least 15 local communities (municipal centres) acros districts of Vidin and Montana to present project idea and to attract participation of the target groups.
