CARNA commune, Dolj county

The village of Cârna is located in the south, southwestern part of the Dolj County near Lake Bistreţ and has an area of ​​2,923 hectares, out of which 70 hectares of land are built and the rest is outside.

Established in 2004, after leaving the village of Goicea in Dolj, about 300 houses were built and renovated in 2008, a new school and a dispensary were built, repairs were made to the cultural center and the town hall.

According to the census carried out in 2011, the population of Cârna commune amounts to 1,363 inhabitants, down from the previous census in 2002, when it registered 1,598 inhabitants. Most of the inhabitants are Romanian (84.23%), with a minority of Roma (12.55%). For 3.23% of the population, ethnicity is unknown. [2] From a confessional point of view, most of the inhabitants are Orthodox (94.57%), with a minority of Pentecostals (1.54%). For 3.23% of the population, confessional membership is unknown.
